Write to a detainee

You might not be in a position to regularly visit someone in a detention centre, but writing letters to detainees is another great way to get involved. And you wouldn't believe how much of a difference it can make to another person's life.

If you'd like to write letters to a detainee please visit the Rural Australians for Refugeess letters to refugees page for further information. They will be able to provide names and addresses of detainees for you to write to.

Please be aware that this will be an ongoing commitment to exchange letters with detainees and you are expected to write regularly. There is no guarantee your letter will be answered, but many detainees are desperate to get in contact with somebody and letter writers are very much appreciated.
