How does it work?

Step 1.

You make a secure donation HERE
We organise a gift for an unaccompanied child presently locked in detention.

Step 2.

Make sure you leave your email address when you donate (there’s a prompt on the secure form)
and we will send you a card to print and pass on to your lucky Christmas friend.

Step 3.

Print your card, give it to your friend, loved one, Kris Kringle recipient at work...

Step 4.

Spread the word... we are not spending our limited money on printing, promotion etc, we’re relying on our fab supporters to pass on the email, post on facebook and tweet about giving hope not soap!

Why don’t we just take donations of your great gifts?

a) We simply don’t have the warehousing space

b) more money would be spent on postage

c) this way we can buy what the kids really need and can use (we’re asking those who visit regularly)
and where possible items will be bought locally and delivered.

What does Chilout do?

We are a non-profit org who have earned ourselves a reputation for giving a voice to the children languishing in Australia’s many forms of detention. We make representations to Government, we monitor the treatment of children in detention, we loudly call for legislation that will prevent the suffering of more children.
