Some issues to raise with your Local MP

If you are planning a visit to your local MP, join our mailing list to stay in touch with the latest issues.

Here are some of issues you could raise:

With no prospect of being sent back to Afghanistan or Iraq, how long will he remaining Afghans and Iraqis be held in limbo on Nauru? What of the children who have lived on Nauru in the camps for over 2 years? Can Australia follow New Zealand's example in providing the remaining families with permanent homes?

What is their opinion on the forcible repatriation of people and children whose claims for asylum have been rejected?  Do they understand the concept of non-refoulement?  (People should not be returned to a country where they might be at risk).

When will the Temporary Protection Visa policy be rescinded?

Remember, if you visit your MP or another politician, please fill in our lobbying feedback form.
